One To Watch is such a multi-faceted novel. It blends romance with very real social commentary on how plus-size people are treated. How women in general are treated.
Bea Schumacher is a well-known plus-size fashion blogger with a huge following on social media. She’s also a woman with a broken heart who, while tipsy, calls out the popular reality show, Main Squeeze, for not being inclusive when it comes to size.
The backlash she receives for daring to state the obvious leads to a deluge of online abuse as well as an offer to Main Squeeze’s next star. The producer wants to give her the platform to shake things up and prove that beauty and love come in all sizes.
Bea agrees, but on one condition—she will not allow herself to fall in love. Her goal is to boost her career, challenge harmful beauty standards, inspire women across the nation, and maybe enjoy a free hot air balloon ride.
However, once the cameras start rolling, Bea realizes that things are not as easy as she thought. She finds herself immersed in a whirlwind of luxurious fashion, online debates, attractive suitors, and unexpected opportunities to discover real, messy love amidst a made-for-TV fairy tale.
Bea definitely goes on a journey of self-discovery in this novel!
